B/J is much bigger than Glacier or any of the others on the list. Banff/Jasper is 200 miles long and very wide. You follow Canada 1 from the southeast entrance near Banff Township to Lake Louise / Moraine Lake & the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper Village. Hikes galore, very impressive. Glacier has (in my opinion) more dramatic 4-5,000 foot sheer cliffs and well-defined/scenic peaks; it also has a slightly better variety of hikes, and a much more "park-like" feel because at the lower elevations the diversity of vegetation is much greater. The town of Cut Bank is a pretty far drive from Glacier - not an ideal base. Yes, I would probably spend a night on the west side if you can find something close to the entrance to reduce your drive time. If you only have 4 days, I’d stick to Glacier and not visit Flathead Lake on this trip. There’s plenty in GNP to keep you busy.

Re: Entering from the East Entrance Question. The entrance to the Sun Rd begins at St. Mary. You will see the entrance sign. Many Glacier is actually about thirty minutes north of St. Mary. You continue past the St. Mary entrance to Babb and will see the Many Glacier entrance on your left.
